Hurricane Fiona – reside: Uncommon alerts issued in Canada as storm brings 125mph winds and ‘life-threatening’ surge

Hurricane Fiona is on a collision course with Atlantic Canada after devastating Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic this week.

The storm is predicted to make landfall late on Friday night time and produce intense winds and rains by means of the early hours of Saturday.

The province of Nova Scotia is forecast to take a direct hit with warnings of extreme flooding and energy outages. Due to the dimensions of the storm, harmful climate can be forecast for elements of Newfoundland, Labrador, Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
