How to add music to instagram story

Since the launch of the feature in 2018, there has been multiple ways released on how to add music to a story.

One of the most popular ways of doing it is by using the Stories sticker.

The process is done in 10 easy steps:

  1. Open the app
  2. Press the story icon at the top-left of your screen
  3. Upload your story by either using the camera or uploading a photo from your camera roll
  4. Press the sticker button at the top of the screen
  5. Tap the Music button
  6. Type in the song you are looking for or browse by mood, genre preference, or popularity
  7. Select the song that you are looking for
  8. Press “Done” in the top-right corner
  9. Move the sticker where you would like it on the
  10. Press the “Your Story” button at the bottom of the screen

Once the music has been selected, users can then edit the sticker to change the lyrics being played, the length of the music, and how they want it to appear on their story.

Why can’t I add music to my story?

Some users may have trouble adding music to their stories.

Reasons why users might not be able to add music include:

  • The users’ app not up to date
  • The feature is not available in the users’ country

SoundCloud artists are just as welcome on the platform as Apple Music and Spotify users.

In five easy steps, users can also added their favorite SoundCloud songs to their stories.

Those steps include:

  1. Opening the SoundCloud app
  2. Find the song you want to share
  3. Press the three horizontal dots at the bottom of the screen
  4. Select “Share to Instagram Stories”
  5. Press the “Your Story” button at the bottom of the screen

Many SoundCloud users have used this feature to promote their music on multiple platforms.
