In 2016, Shelli Melkonian opened Style Society, a boutique featuring fashionable clothing and accessories, which shared space with a salon. When the pandemic forced the boutique to close, Melkonian decided to relocate to a larger space down the street from her original location. “Toward the end of me being there, I was in 150 square feet,” Melkonian says. “We have to only have 25 percent capacity, which in that small space would’ve been one person at a time.
