Highly-rated Fashion Sakala looks set to leave Belgian side KV Oostende after the striker’s agent snubbed fresh contract talks with the club.
Oostende sporting director Gauthier Ganaye has lifted the lid on the on-going transfer saga as he enters the final months of his contract in the Jupiler Pro League.
Ganaye admits there have been plenty of suitors for Sakala emerging in recent months, but still has hopes of extending his current deal.
However, that has been derailed after his agent refused to engage in further talks with Ganaye accusing the representative of a lack of respect.
He told the club website: “We have made three to four offers since last summer.
“Fortunately, Fashion is in Oostende and I am convinced that he can take further steps under [manager] Alexander Blessin.
“However, I feel that his agent is not really respecting KV Oostende as he is no longer responding to our offers.
“A career is an accumulation of decisions and I hope that Fashion has the right people around it to make the right decisions because it deserves that.
“On the transfer deadline day we received a few more offers for him, but in the end there was no transfer.
“It is still our intention to keep him here longer.”
While the player himself is yet to make an official declaration on his future he has dropped a small hint on social media.
In response to a fan imploring him to “come to Rangers”, Sakala liked the comment.
